Despite the fact that this is a master class on painting ceramic mugs, in the same way you can make drawings on glasses.

  • Do-it-yourself glass painting

  1. And now it's time to draw. The drawing can be applied with contour or acrylic paints or with a special marker for ceramics as in this master class. Felt pens and markers do not need baking, they dry for 24 hours, but acrylic paints can be dried either naturally, leaving to dry for 1 day, or bake at a temperature of 150-170 degrees for about half an hour.

Painting mugs

Drawing technique:

  1. Degrease the surface of a cup or glass;
  2. Draw a sketch of the desired pattern or image with your own hands or print the image in the right size.
  • In the case of painting glasses of glass, the sketch needs to be glued with tape on the reverse side;
  • If you are drawing on ceramics, then with the help of a sketch you can outline the main contours and lines along which the drawing will line up;
  • And you can make a stencil and a template (do it yourself or print it out on a printer) or use scotch tape.

  1. First you need to test all tubes and make sure that the paints are not too liquid and not too thick - they should be squeezed out easily, but not in a puddle. Then practice on a piece of paper to put dots of small, medium and large diameter with the same pressing and spacing. (see photo below). The distance between points should be not only the same, but also minimal;

Training before painting mugs

  1. As soon as the points will be of the same size, proceed to drawing, maintaining a distance of about 2 cm from the edge of the circle.

The basic principles of spot painting of mugs:

  • As it was already said: in one line the points should be the same in diameter and volume (if you draw contours);
  • Bitmap on the circle
  • It is especially important to maintain the same and optimal distance. It should be such that the points are distinguishable, but not separated, so that they form a single line. In this case, keep in mind that the greater the point, the greater the distance between them is permissible, and vice versa, the smaller the point - the smaller the interval must be maintained;
  • First you need to draw large, that is, the main parts of the picture, having built the whole composition, and only then draw the details.
  1. Finished drawing to fix. To do this, you need to put the mugs in the oven for half an hour to bake at a temperature of 150-170 C. Markers often do not require roasting and dry in 1 day.

You can draw not only points, but also peas that can be applied with acrylic paint using an eraser from a pencil, cotton swab or brush. Here are some interesting ideas for painting glasses and polka dots.
