Clean the microwave in 5 minutes - 6 express methods

How to clean the microwave

All the most effective and fast ways to clean the inside of a microwave are based on one principle - the creation of a steam bath and a trap for the fumes of cleaning products. The effect of the trap will be created by the stove itself, but our task is to make an effective cleaning solution from products that, fortunately, probably already exist in your kitchen cupboard.

A quick way to clean the microwave

In most cases, the acetic bath method helps to clean the microwave from stagnant grease and persistent stains:

  1. Mix in a bowl 1.5-2 glasses of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar (9%) and put it in a microwave.
  2. Run the microwave oven at maximum power for 10 minutes, then leave it to “steam up” for another 5-10 minutes.
  3. Wipe the oven with a damp cloth to remove the dirt and smell of vinegar.

How to clean the microwave - a quick way

Yes, the smell of vinegar during the cleaning will be felt, but it will quickly disappear from both the room and the microwave oven. And, of course, at the time of "bath" it is desirable to open the window.

If the pollution after the “bath” is soaked, but still remains, you can turn on the oven for another 10 minutes or wipe its chamber with a sponge dipped in the same vinegar solution and sprinkled with soda.

A long-term fatty bloom after the acetic “steam room” will help to wash the olive oil.

Now let's talk about other ways that you can replace or supplement the above method of cleaning.

Method 2. Microwave cleaning with citric acid or lemon juice (for medium and heavy dirt)

This method allows you not only to quickly clean the inside of the microwave oven from fat and soot, but also to eliminate unpleasant odors. However, if the chamber of your microwave oven is covered with enamel, you should not regularly use citric acid to wash it.

What is required: water (400-500 ml), a container for water and 1 tablespoon of citric acid or 4 tablespoons of lemon juice from 2 medium lemons and residues from them.

Recipe:

  1. Fill the dishes with water, pour citric acid into it or squeeze the juice from the lemons cut in half, and then put the halves of the fruit themselves as shown in the photo below.

Cleaning the microwave with lemon juice

  1. Next, we put the container in the chamber and turn on the microwave for maximum power for 2-5 minutes - depending on the degree of contamination.
  2. When the microwave is turned off, you should wait another 5-15 minutes.
  3. We take out the dishes, wipe the oven inside with a sponge or cloth, wetting the sponge in the same solution in difficult places.

Method 3. Cleaning microwave soda (for moderate pollution)

Baking soda

If citric acid is not at hand, and you do not grow a lemon tree at home, and generally prefer to use citruses for their intended purpose, then you can use baking soda, which will settle on the walls of the chamber in the form of condensate and dissolve dried splashes and dirt.

What is required: water (400-500 ml), water tank and 1 tablespoon of soda.

Recipe: our task is to make a solution that will settle on the walls of the chamber in the form of condensate and dissolve the dried spray and dirt. To do this, fill the dishes with water, pour soda into it, put it in the chamber to heat up at maximum power for 2-5 minutes, and then leave the oven alone for another 5 minutes. It remains only to wipe the camera clean, in difficult places wetting a sponge or rag in the same soda solution.

Method 4. Vinegar cleaning (for heavy pollution)

Vinegar will help to clean even the most neglected microwave effectively and quickly, but the smell in the cleaning process will have to suffer. And one more thing - if the chamber of your microwave oven is covered with enamel, then we do not recommend using this method too often.

Acetic acid

What is required: water (400-500 ml), water tank and 2 tablespoons of vinegar (9%) or 1 teaspoon of 70% essence.

Recipe: First of all, open the window, so that the smell of acid could erode. Next, pour water into the plate, pour a bite into it, put the solution in the chamber and turn on the microwave for 2-5 minutes depending on the degree of contamination. Now we give the vinegar fumes a little more time to dissolve the dirt on the walls of the chamber and start washing the microwave oven from the inside with a sponge or soft brush. When you are done, rinse the equipment from the product itself.

Method 5. Cleaning the microwave with a sponge and "Fairy" (for low and medium pollution)

Probably, you thought that it will be a question of usual mechanical cleaning? Not at all, although we cannot do without it, but now we offer a slightly different method, which is suitable for washing a slightly soiled microwave.

Cleaning the microwave with a sponge and dishwashing detergent

What is required: any sponge (except for metal, of course), water for soaking it, as well as any dishwashing liquid like “Fairy”, “Dosi”, etc.

Recipe: on a sponge that is abundantly moistened with water, we squeeze out a detergent of the size of a 1-ruble coin, then foam it well, squeezing and unclenching the sponge. Next, put it in the chamber and start the microwave at minimum power for 30 seconds, making sure that the sponge does not start to melt. Now we open the door and launder the grease-softened grease and spray with the same sponge. In the next video you can visually see the process and the result of cleaning in the manner described.

Method 6. Cleaning the microwave wiper (without the "bath")

And here is another good and safe for the technique of cleaning with the use of household chemicals, though without creating the effect of "bath".

What is required: a sponge, water, and any glass cleaner.

Recipe: Start by disconnecting your oven from the power supply. Next, mix the cleaning solution from the glass and water washing liquid in a 2: 1 ratio. There should be enough solution so that it is enough for cleaning the oven, both outside and inside. Next, moisten the sponge abundantly in detergent solution and wipe the inside of the microwave, including the ring and the dish. Dried stains should be soaked in a wiper for 5 minutes. Then, thoroughly wipe the entire chamber with a clean cloth dipped in water so that there is no dirt or residue of the wiper or its smell on the walls.

And a few helpful tips.

  • The following procedure is recommended for cleaning the inside of the chamber: first we take the ring and the glass plate out of the oven, then wipe the top wall and the grille, then the sidewalls, then the bottom, and finally the door as shown in the photo below. A plate at the time of cleaning can be put under the stove to collect all the dirt in it.
  • Microwave cleaning
  • You need to clean the microwave at least once or twice a month.During this time, fat stains do not have time to get old.
  • In order not to start your assistant and wash it less often, use a special plastic cap that protects the microwave oven chamber from splashes of heated food. The cap can be replaced with transparent glassware or food film.

Microwave Caps and Alternatives to It

  • With citric acid and vinegar, it is important not to overdo it in the process of heating the solution or soaking, especially if the interior of the chamber is enameled.
  • Old stains of fat that cannot be removed even after the “bath” can be removed with a cloth dipped in olive oil.
  • Be careful when putting the microwave in order. Do not use metal sponges and sponges that crumble strongly. After all, the ingress of foreign particles behind the grid can cause a fire device. We also advise you to refrain from experimenting with household chemicals and use only specialized products or those described in our article (glass cleaner, dishwashing liquid and "home" products). The use of hazardous chemicals can also cause the device to ignite.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the microwave oven, so as not to damage its body.
  • And, of course, we recall that if the food in the process of cooking or heating "exploded", leaving grease splashes and pieces of food on the inner walls of the oven, then they should be removed immediately.

Victoria, you are not the only one having such problems when cleaning the kitchen. I had problems with that too. I remember even trying to clean myself, but she only scratched the surface on the stove and in the microwave (((Therefore, I began to look for a safer and more effective means. I found the Unicum grease remover, now without any effort and without harm to the surface, I cleaned the stove and microwave fat and soot, if any.

And how much should be applied? And how is it applied? How safe is it?

  4. Mary kay says

Irina, Unicum grease remover is very easy to use, as it comes in the form of a spray that needs to be sprayed onto problem areas, the surface that you want to wash off with grease or soot. Enough literally for 20 seconds to apply the tool, as written in the instructions for using the tool. And since the tool still has kosher certification, it is high quality and safe.

I bought a Unicum grease remover, and I immediately liked the smell of the product, as it doesn’t have a pungent odor (like most products), but it smells like mint. I put it on the fat that was in the microwave and left, after about a minute I washed it off and saw that everything was washed off. Now and the stove this means my and oven. Even the tiles on the walls of the kitchen they washed from fat.

and there is a self-cleaning oven. Such a stove, when heated for 15–20 minutes with an open window, dissolves itself and removes fat !.
and absolutely does not require additional purification!
